Parent Workshops
Parents will be involved in a 45 to 60 minute workshop. At the beginning of the workshop the parents will complete a quiz to identify what type of sport parent they are – an enabler, avoider, or persuader. They then will be provided with definitions of these type of sport parents, examples via stories, and educated on the effects of their child through each role. The primary objective of the parent program is to educate and assist oneself in creating a mastery environment for their children. Areas covered are: reinforcement on effort, personalized goal setting, increased enjoyment, and success reached by one's potential rather than winning. Parents will walk away with a better understanding of the impact their behaviors and actions have on their child's life.
